GURUN, KEDAH, 27 August 2026 – Sapura Industrial Berhad (SIB), in strategic collaboration with Zhejiang Zhongze Precision Technology Co. Ltd. (ZZ Tech), today officially inaugurated the SIB ZZT manufacturing plant in Gurun, Kedah.

Officiated by Yang Amat Berhormat Dato' Seri Haji Muhammad Sanusi bin Md Nor, Menteri Besar Kedah, the inauguration marks a significant milestone in SIB’s growth journey as the Group expands beyond automotive component manufacturing into precision energy components.

The SIB ZZT facility is the first phase of a multi-phase manufacturing expansion project, producing precision battery cans and lids for energy storage applications. Equipped with smart manufacturing technologies, automation and end-to-end traceability, the export-oriented facility is designed to deliver high standards of quality, precision and operational efficiency while supporting future expansion.

The collaboration combines SIB’s manufacturing expertise with ZZ Tech’s advanced precision technology to strengthen Malaysia’s advanced manufacturing capabilities, support localisation efforts and contribute to the National Energy Transition. The project is also expected to create over 200 employment opportunities, support local suppliers and promote technology transfer within Malaysia’s manufacturing ecosystem.
